It's that time of the year again! AusCAP is looking for two more volunteers to join the Advisory Council. Anyone who is interested should contact the Director of Admin. What is the role of the Council? The role of the Council is to either on its own or at the request of the Board, furnish advice to the Board on matters regarding training programs, social programs, operational procedures, and general AusCAP policies. - To facilitate communication between members and the AusCAP Board. - To facilitate communication between the community and the AusCAP Board. - To provide constructive advice on AusCAP issues, in response to requests from the Board and Officers. - To carry out member consultation programs seeking member views on AusCAP initiatives and policies. Terms of appointment Members are appointed for 1 year at the half term of the Board appointment, to be able to carry issues over to the 'new' Board. Members of the Advisory Council are expected and encouraged to be concerned with all AusCAP policy issues.
Meetings The AusCAP Advisory Council should correspond at least three times each year. However, the Board will invite the Council to board meetings as required.
Some points to keep in mind - The AusCAP Advisory Council has no executive power of its own; its role is purely advisory. - Membership of the Council does not require a significant and sustained commitment of both time and energy. - Council members have an important role in assisting the AusCAP Board to keep attuned to member needs, views and perceptions.
